🌱 Pure raw materials from Lapland
The excess energy from the sun is converted by the plant into compounds such as rosavin, rosarin, rosin, and salidroside. These compounds, known for their sweet and slightly bitter taste, also have a powerful body-warming effect. They are believed to aid the plant, as well as the animals and humans consuming it, in managing stress. Thus, roseroot is often referred to as the ‘Ginseng of the North,’ with references to its ancient use particularly noted in the histories of the Vikings and the indigenous peoples of Siberia.
The most typical habitats for roseroot are slopes located in or near the northern boreal zone, immediately south of the Arctic region. In Finland, it is commonly found growing in the moist creek margins, on rock faces, at the edges of bluffs, and in snowfields of the Lapland fells.
The elixir can be enjoyed by itself but also serves as a fine addition to drinks, porridge, and yogurts.
